Karelia & Frederick – Shreveport Engagement Photographer

Good morning!!! Today, we’re sharing a few images we captured this past Friday afternoon. We tried out a new location and ended up VERY pleased with the results! Luckily, we had a beautiful couple who just adore each other to photograph! It really makes our job easy when we have a good looking couple, a good location, and a beautiful evening!

Karelia and I just so happen to work together very often as we are both attorneys who practice in the same area of law. Karelia also worked with my oldest brother a few years ago, so she and the Bergs go way back! Friday was the first time we met Karelia’s fiance, Fredrick. He’s such an easy going, friendly guy! It was like we’ve been friends for years! Ok, on to the pictures!!!

We told Fredrick to give Karelia a kiss…and he was all for it! In fact, he suggested a kissing pic a few more times during the session!

We had ended the session and were walking to our cars chatting when I noticed that our old friend, the sun, was at a pretty great location. Now, as lawyers, we are taught not to ask that one question too many, but, as a photographer, that one picture extra sometimes turns out to be gold! And, in this case, I think these next two images prove that it was TOTALLY worth taking that extra picture!!!

Karelia, you are going to be a GORGEOUS bride! And, Fredrick, it was so great to meet you! Congratulations to the both of you! Have a great wedding and honeymoon!

Hampton is 1!

We first met this little guy in August of 2011.  And, boy, has he grown!  Hampton is just as adorable now as he was then! While this first outfit wasn’t a “planned” outfit for the session, we couldn’t help but share these next two images!

Hampton’s first birthday party had a Hungry Caterpillar theme. His aunt made his outfit, and his mom made the caterpillar!

Hampton’s mom, Natalie, happened to have this old car in her attic. We were THRILLED when we saw it! What an awesome prop!

Natalie, thanks for bringing Hampton out for his 1 year photos!  He is such a handsome little guy!!!  Blogstalkers, make sure to come back on Wednesday for a gorgeous engagement session!

Hendrix – Shreveport Newborn Photographer

Good morning!  It’s Thursday which means it’s almost Friday which means it’s almost the weekend!  Happy dance!  To celebrate being so close to the weekend, we’re sharing images from our recent session with Hendrix!  Check this little cutie out…

Hendrix’s parents have set him up with a really fun nursery! We loved all of the little details! For example, the blanket Hendrix was lying on in the previous pictures was made for him by his mom!

Not only can his mom crochet blankets…she can also paint! She used her talent to create a really cool piece of artwork for Hendrix’s room…

Matt and Adrienne, thanks for having us in your home to photograph Hendrix! He’s a total cutie!  Blogstalkers, if any of you are looking for a place to do yoga, you should check out Adrienne’s Explore Yoga on Line Avenue in Shreveport!  Also, our weekend plans involve entertaining my sister, brother-in-law, and twin nephews!  It’ll be my nephews’ first time in Shreveport, so I’m sure I’ll have the camera out at some point!  Hopefully, Kenner and Kullen will cooperate for a nice photo of the two of them so that I can share on the blog next week!

Olivia – 5 Weeks Old – Shreveport Newborn Photographer

Today, we’re sharing our favorite images from a recent session starring little Olivia.  Olivia’s mom, Julie, chose the cutest outfits for her shoot!  Lots and lots of pink!  Olivia wasn’t really interested in sleeping during our session, but that’s ok. That just allowed us to grab a shot of her beautiful blue eyes!

When we saw this loft sitting area with a huge beautiful window, we HAD to use it for a quick shot!

Julie, thanks for having us in your beautiful home to photograph little Olivia! It was an absolute pleasure! Blogstalkers, check back for another newborn session on Thursday!

Tabor-Smith Wedding – Louisiana Wedding Photographer

As we’ve mentioned here on the blog (and on Facebook), we recently had the wonderful opportunity to second shoot a beautiful wedding with McGowan Images.  We were incredibly honored to be asked to second shoot because 1) we admire their work and 2) this was a special wedding for the McGowans.  You see, Chelsea was the photographer AND matron of honor! (Not to mention mother to the cutest flower girl ever!) She was going to be busy with her variety of wedding day duties!  So, when she emailed to ask if we were available and willing, we were giddy with excitement!  And, boy, this wedding didn’t disappoint!  It was beautiful from start to finish!  Since the McGowans have blogged several images from this wedding already (Part 1 and Part 2), we wanted to spice things up by showcasing some images that haven’t been shared yet!  Here we go…

This wedding took place at the stunning Lightning C Ranch in Granbury, Texas.  When I say “stunning,” I really mean the single coolest place I’ve EVER been! I grew up watching Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, and all kinds of westerns, so I really enjoyed the decor at the ranch! There were several wonderful details, including a barbed wire railing inside the house, steer heads, lassos, and much more!  Needless to say, we got a little “trigger” happy taking detail pictures!

Check out this chandelier! I so want this for our home! If only we had a room big enough for it…

Jordan and Hannah opted for a First Look. A First Look is an intimate moment for the bride and groom before the wedding. The best thing about a First Look is that the bride and groom really get to enjoy seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day…without the nerves…without the crowd…without the rush. They get to just be together and breathe for a few moments. (Plus, they were able to finish up most of their portraits pre-ceremony so that they got to their reception quickly for the party!)

After a sucessful exchanging of rings, Hannah gave the flower girl’s escort a thumbs up…such a cute moment!

This couple incorporated something we’ve never seen before into their wedding. They had a really cool “branding ceremony!”

This next image is one of my favorites from the day! This image of the happy couple was captured during the McG’s traditional “five minute rule.” The five minute rule is where immediately after the ceremony the couple goes off by themselves to spend just five minutes alone, enjoying the first few minutes of the marriage together. It’s very intimate and it makes for some gorgeous images!

This wedding had some of the most awesome centerpieces we’ve ever seen! There was a consistent theme but each centerpiece was a little bit different! It made for very interesting decor!  Town and Country Flowers in Granbury, Texas, did a fabulous job!  The wedding planner was Meagan, of MegBDesigns, and after seeing her design work (and her own wedding) on the McG blog, it was so nice to be able to meet her and her husband in person!

Nicole captured this next image of Hannah dancing with Jordan and I loved it as soon as I saw it! This is one of my absolute favorite dancing pictures ever!

Since Chelsea and Mack took some time to enjoy the reception (which is something they rarely get to do at a wedding!), we had to capture a shot of them dancing. How sweet are they?

To end the night the couple had a private dance before running out of the reception and jumping into their get-a-way limo!

Jordan and Hannah, thanks for allowing us to second shoot at your wedding! It was truly breathtakingly beautiful! Chelsea and Mack, thanks for putting your faith in us and asking us to assist! We greatly appreciate your help in all aspects of our photography business and we love working with you guys! Blogstalkers, next week should be a busy one on the blog! We have several sessions scheduled this weekend! (Keep your fingers crossed that the weather cooperates!)
