The Dunaway Family

Good Thursday morning!  As those of you who follow us on facebook know (and, if you don’t follow us, you should!), we offered a “Black Friday” giveaway where we asked a random Disney trivia question.  Everyone who commented with the right answer was entered into a drawing for a free session!  Well, by using Random.org, we quickly ended up with a winner…Michelle Dunaway!  And, this past weekend, we met up with Michelle and her family so they could redeem their prize!

We met up with Michelle, Oved, Halee, Aly, and Gracie in Foxworth, MS, on a beautiful day…which was better than we had expected!  Weather forecasts predicted possible thunderstorms, but we kept our fingers crossed and ended up with a perfect day for a photo session!  In fact, Nicole and I had a lot of trouble picking the blog images from this session.  We have several other stunning images that were totally blog worthy, but we made ourselves narrow it down!  So sit back, relax and enjoy some beautiful family pictures!

Here are Michelle and Oved…

And here are the girls!  We had a blast with these girls!  They were so cute, super sweet, and really had fun posing for pictures!

These next three images show not only how cute and sweet these girls are but also how much they actually care about each other!

All little Gracie wanted to do was go play on the swings, but, with the promise of play time as soon as the session was over, she was so good and posed for pictures like a champ!

Aly is the sweetest little girl!  She may have won a few points by wearing cowgirl boots and a sparkly cowgirl shirt!  Too cute!

Halee made sure that there wasn’t a lull in conversation throughout the session!  She wants to go to the University of Florida and major in marine biology and photography.  I was pretty impressed that she already knows what she wants to study in college!  I’ll forgive her for wanting to go to Florida.  (Go LSU!!!)

Michelle and Oved took full advantage of any suggestion to snuggle or kiss…

And we’ll end the blog with one of our favorite images from the day!  Nothing like a fun family picture with a little sass!

Thanks for entering our contest, you guys!  Your family is super cute and sweet, and we had a blast doing this session!

For our Mississippi blogstalkers, if we get enough interest, we will offer mini-sessions on March 10th.  Disks of images would be mailed out in plenty of time for Easter!  Our last round of mini-sessions in Hattiesburg were a huge success, and we hope to keep the trend going!  Email us @ bergphotographyblog@gmail.com if you are interested!

Kenner & Kullen’s First Birthday Party!

Good morning, everyone! My sweet and adorable nephews celebrated their first birthday this past Saturday!  While we spent most of our time enjoying the fun, we brought out our cameras for a few quick snaps!  My sister really went all out for the boys’ first party!  She went with a sock monkey theme in honor of her “little monkeys.”  Let’s start with a quick picture of their tasty cake!

They even had monkey themed snacks…

Check out these Rice Krispie Monkey Pops that my sister’s best friend, Danielle, made for the party!  The little monkeys even have blue eyes to match the boys!

Jenny and Mitch, you hosted a wonderful party!  We had a great time with the boys this weekend and can’t wait to spend more time with them soon!  We only wish we lived closer so that we could visit more often!  And, to my nephews, happy birthday!  To our readers, thanks for checking out this post!  We’ll feature a family session on the blog Thursday morning, so be sure to stop back by!

Etsy Finds

Hello again!  I’m back to share a few more of my favorite items from Etsy!  Click the name of the item to be taken to that item’s page, or, if you want to browse the Etsy seller’s entire store, click the Etsy seller’s name!

1) I’ll start with a little Dino Love from The Air Castle!  This Etsy seller creates adorable wedding cake toppers!  She’s INCREDIBLY talented!  Wedding cake toppers are definitely a fun way to show a little personality at your wedding!  (Ours was Mickey and Minnie, but, if I had seen these beforehand, Mickey and Minnie would’ve had serious competition!)

2) A fun wedding cake topper isn’t the only way to add a little something extra to your wedding cake! We can’t forget about the cake stand! I LOVE the cake and cupcake display stands created by Postscripts!    Way cool if you’re having a rustic style wedding!  And what’s even cooler?  You can have it engraved!  See the little heart on the cake stand?  So cute!

3) And to continue with the rustic wedding theme…check out these wood place card holders by Monkeys on the Roof! (And you’ve gotta love this Etsy seller’s name!)

4) Moving away from wedding cakes, check out this fun necklace by Julie Marie Sink!  There’s something so sweet about this necklace…

5) And, since Valentine’s Day is less than a month away, I thought I’d end this Etsy Finds post with a Valentine’s Day card! Check out these adorable cards by Kraze4Paper!  These tiny cards are really perfect for any time of the year!  And their small size makes them perfect for slipping love notes in coat pockets…

That’s all for this round of Etsy Finds! Next week, we’ll have a family session to share on the blog, so be sure to check back!

Nicole’s Birthday!!!

Good Monday morning!!!  This past weekend was a lot of fun for us because it was Nicole’s birthday!  That means decorations, cake, presents, and a quick photoshoot!  But, more importantly, Nicole’s birthday is just a small opportunity for me to express my love and appreciation for the most important person in my life.  Nicole is a beautiful, supportive, and funny person and I thank God everyday that I’m lucky enough to have her in my life!

So, after a day of presents, cake mix batter (Nicole’s favorite!), and an all-you-can-eat crab buffet with friends, it was time for her photoshoot!  In about 10 minutes worth of taking pictures, I had about 50 images that I LOVED!!!  But, Nicole said that was too many pictures of her and refused to let me save them all!

So here are just a few images of my beautiful wife…

Our good friend, Samantha, gave Nicole these super cute bling-tastic camera earrings!!!

When I was buying Nicole’s birthday balloons, the lady told me, “Your daughter will just love these!”  I laughed when I told her they were actually for my wife!  Everyone deserves birthday balloons!

My mother had a secret up her sleeve this year…she had a super cool Donald and Daisy Duck cake made for Nicole!  For those of you who may not know, Nicole’s favorite Disney characters just happen to be Donald and Daisy Duck!  A really sweet co-worker of my mother’s is a way talented cake designer!  She made a very tasty and way cool cake for Nicole!  (The presents on top are actually little cakes, too!)

Thanks for stopping by the blog!  Nicole will have another installment of her Etsy Finds on the blog later this week so make sure to stop back by!

Morgan & Margaret – Shreveport Wedding Photographer

It’s Friday the 13th!  And 2012 will have two more Fridays that fall on the 13th after today…April and July!  This particular Friday the 13th is bringing us joy because we’re sharing our first engagement session of the year on our new blog!  Before watching the Saints win their first playoff game last Saturday, we met up with Morgan and Margaret for their session!  This lovely couple will be getting married this year, and Nicole and I are excited that they chose us to capture their special day!

When discussing possible locations for their pre-wedding sessions, Nicole and I were pumped when Margaret said she wanted to use her father’s house on Lake Bistineau!    There’s nothing quite like a lake, cypress trees, and happy couple to make for a great session!  Don’t believe me?  Well, take a look…

This next image has just about everything I’ve ever wanted as a setting for an image…cypress trees, tree stumps, and an old boat house!

And we’ll end the blog with one of our favorite images of the day!

See?!?!  Told you it was a great session!  Guys, we had a blast hanging out!  Margaret, we’re looking forward to your bridal session and can’t wait for the wedding!
